Known as The City of Roses, Portland lies at the junction of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers.  The Portland Metro area, Portland and its countless suburbs, is home to 1.9 million of the friendliest people you will meet on earth.

Beauty around Portland

What keeps us raving so much about our city? Well there is of course the natural beauty of the place. High hills surrounding both all sides of the metro area, a magnificent river that cuts right through the city, views of magnificent mountains from all angles, and who can forget the abundant amount of green from trees and plants.

Take a short drive outside of the city and you will meet the Oregon coast in the west, the Columbia gorge heading east.

Within the city there is abundant amount of human activity. There is always something to do, you can enjoy one of many festivals staged on or around our beautiful waterfront, the thousands of trendsetters perusing through the pearl district, the Saturday market, or the countless pubs and restaurants that line our crowded yet unique city blocks.

Portland Metro Area

The Portland Metro Area is Portland Downtown and its adjacent suburbs. While there are many suburbs with their unique names and their own sub-cultures, the city really is just one big mesh. Believe it or not Portland has 94 formally recognized neighborhoods. To make it easier on you there are four distinct areas in the Metro Area; Southwest, Northwest, Southeast and North/Northeast.
